When it comes to choosing cleansers for the fall months, I would recommend using something less harsh and more gentle on the skin. For the morning time you want something thats effective but more gentle. Choose a cleanser that is thicker and richer in lather. We are wanting to stick with cleansers that offer hydrating and balancing properties. For nighttime I personally love using a cleanser with a bit of exfoliant to help git rid of dry skin patches and help really clean out my pores from all the daily toxins we come in contact with.
Speaking of balancing, the next step in any good skincare routine is using a toner. Your best bet is to find a toner that will be free of alcohol, the cold air will be drying out your skin enough, you don’t need to add any products into your routine that will be doing any more drying out. If you are wanting to achieve that dewy glowing appearance look for a toner that contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and salicylic acid.
Now this is my favorite step. For the colder months you are really going to want to beef up your moisturizer game. Opt for a moisturizer that is heavy duty and provides all day moisture. A couple of extras to include in your skincare routine is a weekly mask and exfoliating lips. For a face mask try choosing one that is cream based as opposed to the gel ones you use in the summer months.
Last and final tip, remember that we want to stay hydrated from the inside out. That means during the Fall and Winter months we want to drink plenty of water.
