As I become older in age, I have become more intrigued in finding the best skincare products for my skin type and that will meet my growing needs. I’m all for growing old gracefully and gradually but I definitely want to take the best care of my skin and prolong its youthful appearance as long as possible. So that’s why I am super thrilled for today’s post. I have discovered a tool (or you may start to think of it as a magic wand) that you can use from home that will give you the results that typically come from spending lots of money at a salon or spa. Intrigued? Keep reading.
PMD Personal Microderm
Today I am talking to you all about the PMD Personal Microderm Microdermabrasion Kit. Microdermabrasion is a service one typically has done at a salon or spa that uses a tool that has tiny little rough grains that buff away the top layer of skin to reveal a much more youthful and fresh face, in Hollywood they like to refer to this treatment as an “instant facelift.” [disclaim]I do want to put it out there that I have NEVER had a professional microdermabrasion session[/disclaim] Now what if I told you I have discovered a tool that you can use from the comfort of your own home and get similar if not possibly exact results as you would get when done professionally.
Here is what their site has to say about the product:
The Personal Microderm combines the power of Patented Spinning Disc Technology with a Perfectly Calibrated Vacuum Suction to brighten, smooth, and even skin tone and texture. The Personal Microderm reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, and enlarged pores. After a treatment, makeup goes on smoother and skin care penetrates significantly deeper – 20X deeper
The PMD Personal Microderm, is a tool that you can use at home and get salon like results. When using the PMD Personal Microderm you will be removing the dead skin cells to expose new skin. Once you remove the dead skin cells you will notice the skin’s surface, tone, and over all texture will appear visibly improved. An advantage of having all those dead skin cells removed, you no longer have them acting as a barrier, your skin care products that you use can now be more fully absorbed and due to the increased absorption you will reap maximum benefits from the products.

Here is my before photo:
You can see from the photo, I have uneven skin tone and blemishes. Now, for my first use I made sure to use the white training disc that was provided. I started each session the same, I would wash my face with my everyday/night skincare product (stay tuned for complete review of the system I am using) and I would make sure to pat face dry before using the PMD tool. I would then proceed in a systematic order; the sides of my face, my chin, nose, and forehead. Be sure that you are holding your skin taught when gliding across the face.
You will want to make sure to NEVER go slow across the skin or hold the tool in the same spot. Always keep skin taught and glide across the skin swiftly. I will be first to admit that I did go over one spot more then once and I did cause myself to get a “rug burn” type of spot on my cheek.
After first treatment here are the results:
Call me crazy, but I swear I can see a significant difference just after the first use. To me my skin definitely appears much brighter and my skin tone looks much more even.
I used my PMD tool 1x a week. I chose to give myself the treatment every Sunday evening. For the second treatment I used the blue disc which is for sensitive skin and from there I used the green disc for week 3 and 4. The green disc is classified as their “Medium Strength Abrasion” disc. Now I know my skin could handle this, so if your someone who has sensitive skin, definitely stick to the discs designated for that.
Talk about results! I definitely can see a gradual improvement in my skin’s overall appearance. In week three you will notice after the treatment my skin is much more red and that’s only because of me switching to the more abrasive green disc. Before starting the treatment I struggled a lot with texture on my skin especially on my cheeks where I would say is my “contour” line, along my cheek bones. If you notice in my week four’s results, wow I am so incredibly impressed with how smooth my skin appears and how bright my skin tone appears, no more dull skin for me.
Here are some more side by side comparison shots:
I am so impressed with the results I have achieved in just 4 uses. I’m excited to continue to to use the PMD Personal Microderm and see the results after more uses. I do want to put a disclaimer out there;
This is just my experience with this product, everyone’s skin and needs are different and you should decide what’s best for you and please be sure to read all inclosed education material before use.
With that being said, I have definitely seen and noticed a difference in my skin. After each use I noticed my moisturizers were being absorbed much better and actually I noticed a difference in my skincare products as far as seeing their effects much quicker. I feel overall I have a more youthful, radiant, and fresh appearance. I would highly recommend you purchasing this product and giving it a try yourself.
